The Purchasing/Receiving Clerk will perform a variety of customer service duties related to purchasing,
sales, shipping, receiving and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe and profitable
operation of the shop. They will maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment. This individual will use available
resources for maintaining inventory accurately for the shop building at Pacific Ag Rentals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Directly responsible for purchasing parts, shop supplies and/or tools
  • Directly responsible for all incoming part shipments, which may include, but not limited to loading and unloading
  • Maintain record of all incoming and outgoing shipments. All transactional processing procedures should be followed using PAR guidelines
  • Take a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies
  • Receive, ship, and store parts as needed
  • Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information
  • Pick up and deliver parts for customers and vendors as needed (MUST be authorized by HR Manager to drive)
  • Assist in the move/use of equipment such as, but not limited to, forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, etc. (MUST be forklift certified by Safety Manager)
  • Mark and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged system and assist with cycle count duties
  • Wash tractors and detail equipment as needed

Customer Service:

  • Communicate all freight charges and status of shipments to Management
  • Ensure internal and external customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner through utilization of PAR procedures
  • Communicates with supervisor and other mechanics about shop questions or needs in either written or verbal form in a clear, professional and efficient manner


  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications with management, coworkers, vendors and all other business contacts
  • Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense rules of safety in all on the job activities
  • Conducts self in a manner reflecting positively on PAR and STAR and encourages others to do the same
  • Is organized, independent and selfmotivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detailoriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence
  • Demonstrates proficient written and verbal communication skills, including accurate grammar and business correspondence
  • Prioritize tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities to ensure positive outcomes
  • Ability to multi-task

  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set

  • Arrive at work at scheduled time, including being prepared to work on time after breaks and meal periods
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (if authorized to drive by HR Manager)
  • Must be eligible to be added to company insurance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner



  • Experienced in a similar work environment with a proven track record of strong organizational skills, effective decision-making and excellent people skills a plus
  • Knowledge of parts operating system preferred but not required


  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite preferred


  • Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
  • Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and
    management verbally and in writing


  • Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations


  • Good reading skills
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Work time is split between the shop and yard in a variety of weather
  • Regular time is spent in the shop
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • This job requires routine travel within close proximity of regular assigned work locations
